He is survived by bis wife, Wanda L. Gary was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Portsmouth, and Ektn University. He was an employee of Ford Motor Company for 33 years, retiring in 1987 in Dallas, Texas in a managerial position. Surviving is her son-in-law, C. Timothy Taggart of Houston, Texas. Frances graduated from Virginia Inter-mont College and James Madison University (Harrisonburg State Teachers College). She retired in 1976 after 23 years as a business teacher and department head at Highland Springs High School and as guidance counselor at Varina High School. Her interest in education is indicated by tiie request tint her body be donated to the Virginia State Anatomical Program for scientific research.

After retiring, Frances spent many hours as a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels and the Shepherd's Center of Richmond. She was a lifetime member of Northminister Baptist Church, where she was active as long as her health permitted. She served on the library board and residents' foundation at Imperial Plaza.
