McDANIEL Doris Myers Doris Myers McDaniel, 80, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, September 12, 2005 at The Berkshire in Vinton following an extended illness. Doris was born in Roanoke on November 7, 1924, a daughter of the late John H. and Irene B. Linkenhoker Myers.
Two brothers, John and Kenneth Myers, preceded her in death. Doris is survived by her husband, Richard E. McDaniel of Roanoke; two loving daughters, Doris Ann Thompson of Roanoke and Jerri Gayle Conner and husband, Barry of Vinton; two loving sons, Richard A. "Rick" McDaniel and his wife, Patti and John Kenneth "Butch" McDaniel of Elizabethton, two sisters, Helen Geraldine Jennings of Maryland and Marlene Ann Butler of Richmond. Also surviving are four loving grandchildren, Cathy Crislip of Vinton, Ronnie and Christopher Conner, both of Roanoke, and Mary Ann McDaniel of Troutville; and five great- grandchildren.

Roy W. (Curly) Weaver, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. Born on October 31, 1924, in Covington, a predeceased by his parents, Buck and Trudie Weaver, and an infant sister, Virginia, and beloved cat, Mr. Boots. During World War II, he served in the U.S.
Navy aboard the U.S.S. Biloxi. Curly was successful in automobile sales for over fifty-six years in both Roanoke and Covington. He was the son of the late George W. and Alafair Jane Perdue of Redwood and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Foster Perdue; his sons, Aubrey Buren Perdue and an infant son; his sisters, Essie "Tina" Perdue, Lelia Pearl Perdue Scarberry, Bessie Aurelia Perdue Belcher, Doris Evelyn Perdue, LuVena Perdue Price, Edith Mae Perdue Maxey; his brothers, William Douglas Millard Philmore, Dalton Buren, Walter James, Robert Paul and Floyd Coleman Perdue. Mr. Perdue is survived by his -in-law, Vivian Hudson Perdue (Walter) and Hazel South Perdue (Coleman); as well as many and nephews.

Mr. Biggs was born on March 12, 1919 in Creswell, N.C.
He graduated from Oceana High School in Virginia Beach. Mr. Biggs received his B.S. a and M.S. degrees from Va.
Tech, and his PhD from Cornell University. He taught economics at Clemson University until 1958, and then became an agricultural economist for the USDA in Washington, D.C. until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Biggs served as a navigator during World War II, flying missions over Europe, Africa, the Balkans, and the Middle East.
He received numerous citations for his service, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. Mr. Biggs later continued to serve his country in the Air Force Reserves. Mr. Biggs is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosalie M.
Biggs; daughter, Mary W. Biggs, and husband, J. Michael York of Blacksburg, daughter, Carol B. Taylor and husband, Mark B. Taylor; granddaughters, Kimberly and Melissa Taylor of Littleton, and his dear and devoted caregivers, Amy Conteh and Fatima Sesay.
